Clockwork Shorts

Just over a decade ago, I heard Kieran Hebden’s blissful remix of The Aphex Twin on the Warp records 10th birthday compilation.

Ever since then, I’ve always made a point of searching out anything new that is released under the alias of Four Tet.  Whilst his earlier albums have particularly soothing, hangover-curing properties, this year’s There Is Love In You appears to be evidence that someone’s been dosing Mr Hebden’s water supply, with the skittering fragile melodies of yore now bolstered by mellow house-tempo rhythms, fusing together to create what is without a doubt one of the best albums of the year in ANY genre.  Right now, it seems that he can do no wrong, and the cream of dance music producers are lining up to work with the man.

Anyway, this is one of those mixes where “it’s just for me” to listen to, but as it’s recorded, what the hey, I may as well share.  Some of the tracks are remixes by other artists of him, the rest are the flip of that.. . .  Dont worry, it’s not complicated.  Just have a listen, and enjoy an hour & a half of some top quality music.
