Aphex Twin & Die Antwoord live on stage together
I spent this last Saturday at the London Electronic Dance Festival in Mile End . . Generally not a bad day, bearing in mind that the British Summer involves torrential rain & grey skies.
Anyway, my main focal point of the day was seeing the Aphex Twin for the first time in roughly a decade (if not longer), so it was a great surprise to see south african rap crew Die Antwoord join him onstage for a couple of tracks (or, er.. organised shouting).
Seeing as I filmed a clip of this musical meeting of minds, I figured it can’t harm to share*:

*youtube commenters may care to note that it is indeed the Aphex Twin on stage with Die Antwoord – whether he was playing his own tracks or djing other peoples’ is a whole different semantic argument; and as for the sound quality – well, it was a raw mic recording from my Panasonic TZ-7 camera, to imply that I have somehow messed with the audio is a little bit deluded.
